Developmental Questions to Ask
1. Are we doing the very best with what we have?
2. With the resources we presently have, what’s the next best step we can take developmentally?
3. Now, what is the first step to moving that initiative forward?
Emmanuel Staff Covenant
Philippians 1:27 “Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;”
1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
John 3:30 “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
Our Covenant is to Walk, Talk, Live, Lead, Labor, and Rest in Jesus
1. Walk with Jesus—“Am I knowing and loving Jesus?”
To honor Jesus through private, personal growth, walk, and love for Him.
“I will enjoy my relationship with Jesus and let all of life flow from that joy.”
2. Talk of Jesus—“How am I personally and actively sharing my faith?”
To honor Jesus by witnessing to others personally and with my church family.
“I will anticipate and accept opportunities to speak up of Jesus.”
3. Live in Jesus—“Do my lifestyle choices proclaim me or Jesus?”
To publicly honor Jesus through godly lifestyle, behavioral, and family choices.
“I will take the edify path over the gratify path. I will choose influence over liberty.”
4. Lead toward Jesus—“How am I developing myself and others on the journey of serving Jesus?”
To honor Jesus by selflessly serving His people for their spiritual maturity.
“I will intentionally grow in ministry competence and transfer it to others.”
5. Labor with Jesus—“Am I collaborating or am I competing with my co-laborers?”
To honor Jesus by humbly laboring with, encouraging, and supporting the team.
“I will remain open-handed in ministry relationships and team development.”
6. Rest in Jesus—“How am I caring for myself and my family?”
(spiritually, relationally, financially, physically, emotionally)
To honor Jesus by caring for myself and my family before my ministry.
“I will bring a balanced and healthy life to ministry contexts.”
Rosedale Core Values
1. WE HONOR CHRIST AND HIS CHURCH
Our lives and ministry should reflect who Christ wants us to be.
It’s God’s church and He’s doing a great job with it.
Our decisions will always go through the filter of, ‘What’s best for the Church”.
2. WE ALWAYS SUPPORT THE TEAM
Teamwork is being together, not the same; and one of us is not greater than all of us.
No one of us is smarter than all of us.
3. WE DEVELOP BEFORE DOING
It’s not what you do, but who you can develop.
Try not to put something out half baked.
We welcome critiquing especially prelaunch.
Running it through the team is a good thing.
4. WE SEE MORE AND BEFORE
Preparation and communication are essential to the success of the mission.
Prudence – understanding context
Did we communicate it
How much did we communicate it
How many ways did we communicate it
5. WE STRIVE TO MAKE IT BETTER
Open evaluation and collaboration are key to reaching the next level.
Good enough is never good enough.
6. WE ACKNOWLEDGE AND REWARD
Progress is celebrated and we win together.
Self serving leaders look into a mirror, but selfless leaders look through a window at the ones who made it happen.
We WIN as a TEAM and we LOSE as a TEAM
Team success is more important than individual accolades.
