EMMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH STAFF COVENANT
TO WALK, TALK, LIVE, LEAD, LABOR, AND REST IN JESUS.
> Walk with Jesus—“Am I knowing and loving Jesus?”
To honor Jesus through private, personal growth, walk, and love for Him
“I will enjoy my relationship with Jesus and let all of life flow from that joy.”
> Talk of Jesus—“How am I personally and actively sharing my faith?”
To honor Jesus by witnessing to others personally and with my church family
“I will anticipate and accept opportunities to speak up of Jesus.”
> Live in Jesus—“Do my lifestyle choices proclaim me or Jesus?”
To publicly honor Jesus through godly lifestyle, behavioral, and family choices
“I will take the edify path over the gratify path. I will choose influence over liberty.”
> Lead toward Jesus—“How am I developing myself and others on the journey of serving Jesus?” To honor Jesus by selflessly serving His people for their spiritual maturity
“I will intentionally grow in ministry competence and transfer it to others.”
> Labor with Jesus—“Am I collaborating or am I competing with my co-laborers?” To honor Jesus by humbly laboring with, encouraging, and supporting the team
“I will remain open-handed in ministry relationships and team development.”
> Rest in Jesus—“How am I caring for myself and my family?” (spiritually, relationally, financially, physically, emotionally)
To honor Jesus by caring for myself and my family before my ministry
“I will bring a balanced and healthy life to ministry contexts.”
Philippians 1:27 “Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;”
1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
